Comprehensive Eye Examination
Dr. Reiter evaluates both the inside and outsides of your eyes with the latest State of the Art instruments. She looks for early signs of the following:
- Cataracts
- Glaucoma
- Diabetic Retinopathy
- Hypertensive Retinopathy
- Macular Degeneration
Dilation
Dr. Reiter routinely dilates all patients. There is no additional fee for this test. Dilation allows the best look inside your eye to uncover any diseases or cancer in the early, treatable stage before symptoms are present. She uses a special drop that will help to reverse the effects of the dilation so that the near vision blurriness and sensitivity to bright lights wears off in 30 to 45 minutes, instead of 2- 3 hours without the reversal drops.
Exams for Children
Dr. Reiter can examine children as young as age 3. She uses a special symbols chart for children who don’t recognize letters yet. It is important for children to have an eye exam before they start kindergarten to detect any vision problems. Dr Reiter will do extra tests to measure their ability to focus at near and eye teaming.
Contact Lenses
Dr. Reiter’s specialty is fitting the latest contact lens designs. She likes to fit the new designs of contact lenses for those over age 40 who need both distance and reading correction. She specializes in hard to fit contacts, like keratoconus.
