Jolene A. Reiter OD – Optometric Physician
Dr. Reiter specializes in contact lens fitting. She is an expert fitter of the new soft bifocal contact lenses. She also fits contact lenses for astigmatism, gas permeable and hard-to-fit contact lenses including those for keratoconus. Dr. Reiter can also treat many eye diseases, write prescriptions for topical eye medications, and remove foreign bodies. She regularly attends continuing education to keep up on the latest developments in the field.
Dr. Reiter grew up in Columbus, OH. She received her Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Microbiology at the Ohio State University. After graduation, she worked for Ohio State as a research assistant at the veterinary college and did research on cats. She decided that she was more of a people person and so she decided to change careers to one that would improve the lives of others. Dr. Reiter attended the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago, IL and after four years, received her Doctor of Optometry degree in 1995. She worked in Chicago for almost a year before moving to Florida to be near her family. She has worked for large optical chains, a private practice and for an ophthalmologist. She was excited to open her own practice in 2007 where she could have the latest in technology in order to provide the best examination possible.
Dr. Reiter is a past president of the Palm Beach County Optometric Association. She served as Vice President of a BNI networking group. She also is a member of the Palms West Chamber of Commerce and participated in the Leadership Palms West program.
Dr. Reiter believes in giving back to the community. She volunteers her talents once a month at a medical mission clinic by offering free eye exams for those in need. She has also gone on two mission trips to Mexico and has given out over 1500 pair of glasses.
In her free time, Dr. Reiter enjoys spending time with her family, especially her two nieces. She actively attends her church. She likes to read books on leadership and business. She loves to travel, going to the beach and snorkeling
Marcene Reiter – Office Administrator
Marcene grew up in Portsmouth, OH. She attended the Ohio State University in Columbus, OH as a math major in Secondary Education. After several years being a stay at home mother to two daughters, she pursued a career in banking. She worked as a bank teller and then used her teaching skills to train new tellers. Ms. Reiter moved to Florida in 1988 and continued her career in banking as a Loan Servicer at local bank until her retirement in July 2006. She had a total of thirty years in the financial services field. Marcene now enjoys working with her daughter Dr. Jolene A. Reiter as the Office Administrator. Along with answering the phone and making appointments, she files insurance claims and takes care of the practice finances. Marcene enjoys spending time with her two granddaughters and regularly attends their school concerts and sporting events. In her free time, she is an avid crossword puzzler and reader and likes to watch the Food Network to get new recipes.
Debi Niles – Licensed Optician
Debi was born in West Palm Beach, FL and graduated from Lake Worth High School. In 1985, she decided to follow in her father’s footsteps and began her career in eyecare by working in a lab making glasses. In 1990, she decided that she wanted to help patients with the fashion side of eyecare and studied as an
apprentice. Debi became a
licensed optician in 1996,
receiving her LDO,
ABOC and NCLEC certifications. We
were glad to add
Debi to our team in April 2010. She is experienced in
helping you pick out the frame style that best suites
your face shape and will explain all lens
options. She
also trains new first time
contact lens wearers. Debi
assists Dr. Reiter by performing diagnostic testing. In her free
time, she likes to spend time with her
family and friends camping, hunting
and fishing. Debi
had won several Texas Hold-Em Poker tournaments.
